CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Feldman Law Firm, LLP, Lead Counsel Litigation, 2008-Present. Managing litigation group in handling variety of cases including commercial litigation, business litigation, contract disputes, employment law matters, and general civil litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Responsibilities include managing and monitoring outside counsel, developing case plans and strategies, conducting risk analysis and assessment, taking the lead in drafting of motions, pleadings, discovery, and briefs, and participating in mediations, arbitrations, jury trials, bench trials, post-trial matters, and appeals. Trial counsel for homeowners in suit brought against Tanglewood Homes Association, Inc. in Cause No. 2008-65420, styled Feldman v. Tanglewood Homes Association, Inc., in the 80th Judicial District Court of Harris County, Texas on account of the Association's failure to enforce the protective covenants and deed restrictions. In November 2010, a jury found that the Association's denials of the homeowners' construction plans were arbitrary or capricious and awarded the homeowners damages and attorneys' fees totaling almost $500,000 against the Association.

  • Barnett & Craddock, L.L.P., Partner, Houston, Texas, 1996-2006. Extensive experience handling business disputes, commercial litigation, contract disputes, tort cases, defamation cases, employment law matters, and general civil litigation. Won an arbitration award of $250,000 in a commercial case. Obtained favorable jury verdict and recovery of $171,000 in retaliatory discharge case in Harris County, Texas. Researched and wrote appellant's brief and successfully argued Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) case to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Hawkins v. Frank Gillman Pontiac, 102 Fed. Appx. 394 (5th Cir. 2004).

  • Glickman & Barnett (n/k/a Glickman & Hughes, LLP), Associate, Houston, Texas, 1989-1996. Solid background in investigations, discovery, motions practice, dispute resolutions, settlement negotiations, jury trials, post-trial matters, and appellate practice. Researched and wrote appellant's brief and successfully argued constructive discharge case to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Cortes v. Maxus Exploration Co., 977 F.2d 195 (5th Cir. 1992). Won jury verdict of more than $1,000,000 in real estate fraud case in Harris County, Texas as First Chair trial counsel. Won $2,400,000 jury verdict in wrongful termination case in Harris County, Texas as second chair trial counsel. Won $1,100,000 jury verdict in whistleblower's case in Harris County, Texas as second chair trial counsel.
